An American Kennel Club Licensed Member Club whose purpose is to further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs and to protect and advance the interests of purebred dogs through the encouragement of training, fostering of shows, exhibits and matches, dissemination of knowledge, and information to the general public.
WKC currently has about 30 active, working members, many of whom breed purebred dogs and compete with them in breed conformation, obedience, agility, scent work and field competition. We also have AKC judges of breed conformation, obedience and rally among our members. You can see some of our club members in action participating in all facets of our sport by clicking on "Members In Action" in the left column.
We are a very active club. We have four general club meetings per year, usually in March, June, October, and December at an area restaurant, many also include an educational program.
The major events the club holds each year include:
• Genetic Testing Clinic in March or April
• Two-day Obedience and Rally trial in May at MasterPeace in Franklin, MA
• Back-to-back All-Breed Conformation Shows and "Novice Night" Obedience and Rally trial at the Boxboro Regency in Boxborough, MA in August
• Scent Work Trials in October.
• Three day Agility Trials in November indoors at American K9 Country, Amherst, NH
